Letters after a Long Journey

During Refugee Week 2018, Haringey Welcome held a poetry competition for year 6 pupils across the borough along the theme of ‘Welcome’ and what it might mean to contribute to a welcoming environment for migrants and refugees. As you can see here we had some amazing entries and we are busy getting all of the poems into book format for the schools, students and parents to keep.

We also had another primary school in borough get in touch to tell us that some of their year 2 pupils have written letters around the theme of welcoming new people to our community in Tottenham. You can see a selection of the letters below. They are wonderful, and we would like to thank all the pupils who took the time to write such warm and compassionate messages. They are setting a great example of how we can all work together to ensure Haringey is a welcoming place.
