In November 2018 Haringey Welcome persuaded Haringey Council to pass a motion committing to develop a Welcome Strategy, which states:
“That welcome, not hostility, should be the spirit driving the Council’s approach to service delivery and to working with all residents, particularly vulnerable refugees and migrants.”
In the coming months, we will be working with the Council and local civil society to develop the strategy further. Meanwhile, at this critical historic moment for the UK, Haringey Welcome is holding this event to celebrate our vibrant community and everyone who has come to live in it.
Haringey Welcome member Nathan Lee says:
“Together we will be affirming our opposition to the Government’s Hostile Environment policies, and restating our commitment to making our home a truly welcoming and inclusive place for all.”
