GET INVOLVED

Are you directly affected by the UK’s hostile asylum and immigration system? Or perhaps you are aware of the unjust impacts Hostile Environment policies have on local communities and want to find out more and contribute to working for a more inclusive and welcoming society?

We welcome you all.

ORGANISE

We invite all local residents, organisations, elected representatives, schools, and faith groups to join Haringey Welcome in making our Borough an inclusive, just, and safer place. We’re interested to meet people with personal experience of the Hostile Environment and those with an interest in organising, policy and campaign work.

If you have a lived experience of the UK immigration and asylum system and want to campaign for a fairer system and/or to share your story with us and the community, please get in touch.  If you have experience or skills in the areas of community organising, communications, research, creative and performing arts, events organising, or fundraising, we’d love to hear from you!

VOLUNTEER

For ten years volunteers were responsible for the entirety of Haringey Welcome’s work. In 2025 we became an incorporated body enabling us to raise funds for key strategic roles. However, the indispensable bedrock of Haringey Welcome will always be formed of our amazing volunteers.

As an HW volunteer you will work alongside the Board and staff on campaigns, community projects, communications, events, and fundraising, bringing energy and practical support to our grassroots work.  The work that volunteers perform and often instigate is crucial and we are always open to ideas from anyone who can contribute their time, skills, ideas and experience. An overview of possible volunteer roles follows but we welcome your ideas too.

Please look at our Volunteer Induction pack which provides a comprehensive account of how we work and the  roles and resposibilities of  HW volunteers.
